13. We know it comes after 12 and before 14. But 13 is much more than a number. 13 represents a way of life. 13 is a symbol of everything it takes to be a true Champion in whatever you do in life. Many associate 13 with bad luck and fear it — we have decided to embrace 13, just as we embrace facing our fears head on and trying to do what others say can’t be done.
It is only fitting that our core meaning centers around a number. Our Managing Director has been called a “numbers guy” many times during his career. Our specialty in Accounting, Finance and Business is directly correlated with numbers. In the Financial Management System, the ultimate goal is to maximize long-term shareholder wealth (Firm Value) – a number. With all that said, the “number” is never really as important as the process and journey towards that number or goal. What it takes to achieve success and become a Champion is about much more than just a “number.”
That’s 13. Working hard. Caring about what you do. Caring about the people that you do it with. Teamwork. Realizing that you have to fail before you succeed. Overcoming adversity. Never quitting. Understanding that there always is a solution. Finding a way. Not being afraid of bumpy roads and dark places – for that’s the only way you find your true character and are able to come out to see the brightest light. If it was easy, it wouldn’t be fun. Being passionate about playing The Game – life. First believing that you can do anything, then knowing that you will do it.
